Eva Garibaldi (b. Ljubljana, 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and published researcher from Slovenia, based in Rotterdam. Her practice engages with topics focusing on ecological collapse and the perception of landscape. Her research focuses on marginal landscapes focusing on swamps as spaces of resistance. She holds a BA in Industrial Design from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia (2018) and a Master of Interior Architecture: Research + Design (Cum Laude) at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam (2021). Together with Ana Laura Richter, she is the founder of Swamp_Matter a research, art, and design studio based between Rotterdam and Ljubljana. Currently, they are developing a research project on caves in the karstic landscape through a more-than-human narrative in collaboration with Škocjan Caves Public Service Agency and Aksioma Institute for Contemporary Art funded by the Creative Industries Fund NL. The results will be presented in their first solo show in Fall 2024 at Aksioma Gallery in Ljubljana.
